Book of Genesis - Chapter Two: "Now at last the heavens and earth were successfully completed. So on the seventh day, having finished his task, God ceased from this work he had been doing, and God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he ceased this work of creation..."
Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and you will be given what you ask for. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened."
Janet Vinyard has been a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church for 50+ years. One would say that Janet has a true calling to support Emmanuel; Janet is involved with every aspect of the church. Janet often encourages others through her own personal values and belief in God. Janet is a member who is very active in the church and when asked "What I enjoy most about our church?" Janet's reply is the love I receive from everyone. They are my family. Her favorite scripture is:
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."
Rose Kerswell is another member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church for 50+ years. Rose often attends church with Cindy her daughter and Mildred (Peach) her sister-in-law. They welcome all of their family members to attend and you'll see that the family will take us two pews during the holidays. When asked "What I enjoy about our church?" Rose replied the faith in our congregation and the fellowship. Most people are familiar with her favorite scripture:
John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and that whoever believeth in him shall have ever lasting life."
Margaret Maxwell-Mood has been attending Emmanuel United Methodist Church for a year. Maggie as we all call her is part of Rose's pew. When asked "What I enjoy about our church?" Maggie is quick to say the wonderful people who make the church possible and being able to share my faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her favorite scripture is
Psalms 23 "Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need. He lets me rest in the meadow grass and leads me beside the quiet streams. he restores my failing health. he helps me do what honors him the most. Even when walking through the dark valley of death i will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way. You provide delicious for for me in the presence of my enemies. You have welcomed me as your guest; blessings over flow. Your goodness and unfailing kindness shall be with me all of my life, and afterwards I will live with you forever in your home?"
Barbara Wright has been a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church for 50+ years and is always providing testimony of the great and wonderful things Gods provides. Barbara is very active with every group within the church and she has been instrumental along with Miriam Hayes with the development of our Focus Group for new members as well as our website. When asked "What I enjoy most about our church?" Barbara's reply is the fellowship with the church “family “ members who believe in Jesus Christ and are growing in their faith and joy in Christ day by day. My favorite scriptures: I really have and have had many favorite scriptures over the years such as :
John 3:36 assurance of eternal life;
John 8:12 Jesus is the light of the world;
John 8: 32 the truth will set you free;
John 17: 20 here Jesus himself prays for everyone who will ever have faith in him;
Hebrews 4: 15-26 Jesus understands our weaknesses.
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and you will receive, seek, and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

TAIZE PILGRIMAGE
We will shortly have a report of our church member currently on a Taize Pilgrimage. Ryan Quann and his parents are members of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Ryan's mother, Debbie, keeps everyone posted as to the events Ryan has experienced during the preliminary meetings with others venturing on the Pilgrimage as well as Ryan's personal belief in God. As a teenager, Ryan certainly has a very strong and very warm spiritual connection to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
