The Clean Team of Emmanuel United Methodist Church recently participated the Salem County's clean-up day on May 23rd.  The Team gathered 118 pounds of litter and recyclables for the Salem County Road Clean-up Program on route #641 (Penns Grove-Auburn Road).  Last year the Clean Team gathered 163 pounds of litter and the reduction is a direct indicator that the County's program is working toward a cleaner Salem County.  The group has grown since our last outing and the Clean Team is still looking for members who enjoy Christian fellowship and helping our environment.

The team members who participated are: Fred and Lois Raine, Bob and Miriam Hayes, Marge Koriakin, Debbie, Steve, Ryan and Adam Quann, Carmella Sickler, Jeanette Harbeson, Terry McCarson, Maggie Maxwell-Mood, Justin Ruesswick, Ken and Doris Garner, Barbara and Tony Scafiro, Barbara Wright, and Clint Layton.

August 19th Emmanuel hosted Facing The Giants as you can see we certainly had a wonderful time sharing fellowship with our 60ish guests and members.  Some of our members distributed fliers on the doors of neighbors close to the church Monday evening before the move.  The movie came highly recommended because of the spiritual message and the audience chuckled at the funny parts, became teary eyed at the sad parts; and became moved with the message of a team working through Jesus Christ to do and be the best they can be.

Watch for our next film in the near future.  Yes, the rumor was true, there was popcorn, juice drinks and teas, and treats as a parting gift.  We even named our movie guy; who is now known as "Camera Boy".

Sunday, May17th, 2009 Emmanuel United Methodist Church celebrated a special Sunday service with emphasis on our Families.  Parents and children, young adults, and church members all participated in the event.  As people joined in Christian fellowship, families were the center of attention.  If you think some of these pictures are blurred - you are correct!  This event got everyone out of their seats and moving about with many activities under the direction of Pastor Ayn Masker.

The theme of this page is to ask you to consider joining our Christian Fellowship as we worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We have traditional and non-traditional approaches in our worship methods however our hearts and spirits are cradled in the Christian faith.

Emmanuel United Methodist Church has:

 Good Friday Service
The Emmanuel United Methodist Church hosted Good Friday service that included the following pastors and churches:

Emmanuel UMC would also like to send a thank you to the community of churches who joined together for the worship of our Savior on Good Friday and thank you to the Band of Brothers for their praise and worship music.

August 4, 5, 6, & 7, 2009: Our church hosted a booth at the Salem County Fair.  We made paper airplanes, and cups with children attending the fair; and if you looked real quick, you would catch a glimpse of an adult flying the planes!  Our volunteers gave packets of information containing great Christian reading to everyone visiting our booth.  We shared our belief in Jesus Christ and we invited many visitors to attend our Sunday morning service.  At our out-reach booth, all of our volunteers received a wonderfully rewarding and spiritual experience as many old friends of the church and of the volunteers stopped to chat.  The many exhibits at the Fair were diverse and very interesting and many of the exhibits provided an educational experience.

Our neighboring booth was hosted by the Family Promise Program that is supported by Emmanuel United Methodist Church and other member churches in Salem County.  Below are some photos from the fair, and we thank everyone who stopped at our first booth to say hello.

Volunteers were:Barbara Wright; Margaret Maxwell-Mood; Doris and Ken Garner; Carmella Sickler; Janet Vinyard; Cindy Maxwell; Debbie, Steve, and Ryan Quann; Judy and Fred Raine; Pastor Ayn and Ed Masker.
